Antique straight (cut throat) razor, with horn scales inscribed 1787, housing a “wedge" ground blade with a very short or nonexistent "monkey tail" (the curved end of the tang), typical of late 18thC examples. The blade is marked with the maker which looks to be John. C. Cockhill, Sheffield.
